Rules

     RULES

  • Please show good sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct could jeopardize your rights and/or standing as a membr. Failing to comply with a warning may result in actions from the Tru-Cowpokes Saddle Club, not limited to suspension from said club.
  • A family membership for a year is $40.00. (Anyone under the age of 18 years old must be on a family membership with a parent.) A single membership for a year is $30.00. A non-rider membership for a year is $15.00.
  • There is 6 age groups: Leadline 0 to 7, Peewee Cowpokes 4 to 7, LiL Cowpokes 8 to 12, Junior Cowpokes 13 to 17, Senior Cowpokes 18 to 39, Old Cowpokes 40 an Up. Age Group you are in is determined by your age as of January 1st. You must stay in the same age group all year.
  • There are 5 events: barrels, straight-away, flag race,speed race,and poles. Member pay $3.00 per event, $3.00 per exhibition, and no registration fee.Non-members pay $5.00 per event, $5.00 per exhibition and a $5.00 registration fee.
  • In order to receive end of year awards, you must be a member of Tru-Cowpokes Saddle Club, must ride at least 4 out of 5 shows, and must work 2 events at each show. IF YOU DO NOT WORK, YOU DO NOT GET YOUR POINTS! Awards are presented to all age groups, There will be an over all high points award given at the awards presentation.

  • A lead line may be used in the lead line class only.

  • Five seconds will be added to the time for every barrel or pole knocked over. If you knock over the barrel in the flag race and have the flag in your hand, you will have 5 seconds added to your time.

  • If the timer malfunctions, you will get a re-ride.If a barrel or pole was knocked over in the first run, a five second penalty will be added to your second run..

  • Each rider must sign a release form for Fisher Stable and Arena Inc. and Tru-Cowpokes Saddle Club at each show.

  • An adult must do all signing up.

  • All riders must ride in closed toe shoes. No sandals or flip flops.

  • Ribbons will be given at each show for first through sixth place. Please let us know if you do not want your ribbons.

  • People who have knowledge of their horse kicking, please be courteous of other riders.For safty purposes, please tie a red ribbon on your horse's tail.

  • Complaints should be taken to a board member. There is a list of all board members on the Officers page on the website or in your membership packet.

  • All children should be accompanied by an adult at all times. Tru-Cowpokes Saddle Club is not responsible for unattended children.

  • No riding down roads or on trails during shows.
  • When entering Fisher Stables and Arena, the posted speed limit is 10 mph. If not observed, you can and will be asked to leave.
  • Do not stand behind the alleyway. No tying horses to the fence directly behind the alleyway.
  • Please do not throw trash on the ground. There are trash barrels located around the arena. Please use them.
  • Please support your club by helping with the fundraising. We have bake sales and trail rides to help raise money for Your end of year awards. We also sell ads and sponsorships. Just let a board member if you would like to help or if you have any ideas. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 6pm in Kilgore.
